Job Purpose
The VP Sales: US Hemp B2B Channel will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for developing and executing the commercial strategy for the launch of our new hemp derived THC beverage and edible products. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of consumer behavior, beverage B2B sales, distributor partner management and competitive landscape. The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams, leveraging market insights and data to create and implement go-to-market plans that maximize revenue, market share, and brand equity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial strategy for the B2B Hemp Channel for both beverages and edibles.
    • Identify market opportunities with key distributors and retail channels and create actionable plans to capture market share and drive growth.
    • Collaborate with product development, marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure alignment and execution of the go-to-market strategy.
  • Market Analysis and Insights:
    • Conduct in-depth market research to understand consumer trends, competitive landscape, and category dynamics.
    • Utilize data analytics to derive actionable insights and inform strategic decisions.
    • Monitor market performance and adjust strategies as necessary to achieve business objectives.
  • Go-to-Market Strategy:
    • Define and oversee the go-to-market plan, including pricing, positioning, and distribution strategies.
    • Develop and execute launch campaigns, working closely with the marketing team to ensure brand consistency and impact.
    • Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the success of the launch and ongoing performance of the brand and distribution partners.
    • Hire and build out field sales team to support market launches.
  • Sales and Distribution Management:
    • Develop sales strategies and tools to support the sales team in achieving targets.
    • Develop incentive programs to drive growth with distribution partners.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key distributors, retailers, and partners.
    • Identify and secure new distribution channels to expand product reach.
  • Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Lead and inspire a cross-functional team to achieve strategic goals and deliver exceptional results.
    • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has direct report(s) and supervisory responsibility in the Sales department. This employee has the authority to hire and fire other employees, or this employee’s suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other employees are given particular weight.

Required Qualifications
  • 7-10 years of Senior leadership experience in commercial strategy or sales within the alcohol-beverage, wine and spirits industry or a related sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully launching new beverage products and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Deep understanding of the alc-bev, wine and spirits market, distributors consumer behavior, and industry trends.
  • Ability to travel. Travel expectation is 50% and could be more in the first 6-12 months. 
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
This position requires a valid state-issued license to work in the cannabis industry (e.g., MED Badge).

Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual compensation commensurate with experience from $165,000 - $190,000, including potential bonuses.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position is exempt from overtime pay due to executive employee exemption.
This position regularly works normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week. Please confirm with the supervisor regarding the expected working schedule.
Travel includes both local and out-of-the-area travel with some overnight travel expected. Travel is up to 50% of work time.
