Senior Manager/Supervisor
Job Purpose
Provide leadership to the sales and marketing efforts, develop, and implement the Company’s strategic sales plan, analysis of market conditions, competitive forces, regulatory requirements and changes, customer and market needs in addition to the sales resources required to meet revenue targets. Duties will focus on selling as #1 priority, evaluating pricing and cost analysis, strong communication with distribution partner and regular updating to management.
Wana Brands is an infused cannabis products manufacturer. This position helps to promote Wana Brands by helping to support and manage Wana sales operations on the East coast. The role will support the Midwest market in developing and executing sales support and marketing strategies, meeting quarterly goals, and providing guidance and training to teams. This role will also manage Wana Sales Brand Managers in respective markets (MI, IL, OH, AR, MS, and OK).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Manage multiple markets in Midwest including MI, IL, OH, AR, MS, and OK.
  • Ensure development and execution of differentiated market strategy for each market through support of each market’s core team including the following activities:
  • Identify product launch needs and support roll-out of all new product launches in all markets.
  • Evaluate opportunities for growth within each market and make recommendations for key initiatives.
  • Understand and monitor individual competitor pricing and promotional strategies; make recommendations regarding pricing adjustments as needed.
  • Develop key account strategy in all partner states and build relationships with buyers and other influencers within key accounts.
  • Develop and manage promotional and discount strategies with partners.
  • Develop competitive intelligence system for uncovering and sharing market information with internal and external team members.
  • Work closely with field marketing and sales teams to identify event and training needs and build out plan to meet those needs.
  • Perform quarterly sales forecasting for AOP.
Job Requirements:
  • Passion for Wana Brands and knowledge of the industry.
  • Strong ability to model and train sales teams on consultative selling methods.
  • Experience and knowledge of selling premium quality grade products and managing a broad portfolio of products.
  • Data driven and experience with different sales and data systems.
  • Persuasive sales ability, including ability to effectively position Wana products against competitors.
  • Ability to develop team members and lead by example.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use appropriate tools to monitor KPIs and other sales metrics.
  • Flexible schedule and ability to work some weekends and evenings.
  • Travel Expectation 40%.
  • Candidate must live in either Michigan or Illinois.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has direct report(s) and supervisory responsibility within the Sales department. This employee has the authority to hire and fire other employees, or this employee’s suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of other employees are given particular weight.

Required Qualifications
  • Prior cannabis sales experience.
  • Prior management experience.
  • Prior CPG experience with strong analytical experience.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
This position requires a valid state-issued license to work in the cannabis industry (e.g., MED Badge).

Compensation and Benefits
  • Annual compensation commensurate with experience from $125,000 - $140,000, plus potential bonuses.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This position is exempt from overtime pay due to executive employee exemption.
This position regularly works normal business hours, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week. Some weekend and night work will be expected. Please confirm with the supervisor regarding the expected working schedule.
Travel includes both local and out-of-the-area travel with some overnight travel expected. Travel is up to 50% of work time.
